Gameplay

Road Avenger is an FMV interactive action movie game, essentially played as a series of enormous Quick Time Event car chases, with the player reacting to on-screen prompts/situations to steer, accelerate, and brake the car.

While it has similar gameplay to other laserdisc games like Dragon's Lair, Space Ace, Ninja Hayate, and Time Gal, Road Avenger is significantly more interactive and action-packed. In Road Avenger, the player is constantly needing to react by performing various different actions at a fast pace.

Road Avenger has nine levels, each ending with a ranking based on the player's reaction time.

It has three difficulty modes. Hard Mode does not having any on-screen prompts at all, but the player needs to react based on the situations.
