Aces High

Aces High is an open-ended WW2 combat flight simulator, where players can fly online or offline, and engage other players in air, land or sea-based combat.

Aces High has a small but strong community of aviation enthusiasts. This is not a forgiving arcade style simulation, but rather one that rewards those who can understand a very well put together flight model. The game was designed in mind to have a small player base, made up of 600 or so divided between three teams (the Bishops, Knights, and Rooks.)

Where Aces High takes a twist on the usual WW2 air combat, is that players are given a choice of a number of different fighters, bombers (and ground vehicles) from all sides of the war. Those choosing late war fighters like the famous P-51D, will be awarded less points for shooting down an enemy than one who chooses to fly an early war P-40 Warhawk.

In 2004, Aces High became Aces High II. In recent years, the name of the service has switched back to simply "Aces High."
