The Oregon Trail

A 3D adaptation of the classic edutainment computer game of the same name, released for the Wii and 3DS to celebrate the original game's 40th anniversary.

Overview

The Oregon Trail, also known as The Oregon Trail: 40th Anniversary Edition and not to be confused with several other games in the series, is a historical strategy-simulation game developed by DoubleTap Games and published by Red Wagon Games exclusively in North America for the Nintendo 3DS on December 4, 2011 and the Wii on December 9, 2011.

An adaptation of the classic edutainment computer game series of the same name (and celebrating the series' 40th anniversary), The Oregon Trail reworks the experience in 3D for touchscreen or motion controls, with players controlling various aspects of the game in third-person (including driving the wagon itself). It also adds various scenarios, set throughout multiple time periods.
