Top Gear Rally 2

A successor to the original Top Gear Rally, bringing an even more realistic take on the sport of rally racing.

Overview

Top Gear Rally 2, not to be confused with the European release of Top Gear Pocket 2, is a 3D rally-racing game developed by Saffire and published by Kemco for the Nintendo 64 in North America on December 3, 1999, with a Japanese release on February 4, 2000 and a European release on February 28, 2000.

A successor to the 1997 game Top Gear Rally, Top Gear Rally 2 builds on the original game's simulation aspect (as opposed to the Top Gear series arcade-style predecessor, Top Gear Overdrive) with a new, more-realistic physics engine, in-depth tuning and damage systems, an actual point-to-point rally racing system, and a "random track generation system" (in which the track condition can change at any time). While it doesn't include a paint job editor, the game includes four-player multiplayer and Expansion Pak high-resolution support.

Sanctioned by the American Rally Sport Group, the game features unlockable licensed versions of real-life rally cars, including the Subaru Impreza, the Mitsubishi Lancer, and the Toyota Corolla.
